Only a holiday ‘snap’, but for me a very evocative reminder of a wonderful week spent in the Ecrins region of the French Alps near Briançon. It is one of many photos taken on that trip but I particularly like the composition with the sweep of the mountainside on the left drawing your eye down to the trees at the bottom of the valley. It was a perfect day with just the right amount of cloud outlining the mountain tops.
My camera is a Canon EOS 350D and I was using the 18–55 mm lens, ISO 200, 1/400 sec at f11 (so no need to use a tripod on this occasion!). It was processed in Photoshop Elements 4 with virtually no adjustments.
